Call for Applications – ConceptLab Visiting Fellowships 2017/18

ConceptLab at the University of Oslo is extending a call for International and Norway-based candidates to apply for the position of Visiting Fellow for up to 3 months.  The deadline for this new round of visiting fellowships applications for 2017-18 is 30 September 2017

Collaborative Fellowships

The Collaborative Visiting Fellowship scheme for 2017-18 is open to applicants who hold an academic position or are PhD Students. Collaborative visiting positions come with a stipend of NOK 20 000 per month for up to 3 months to support travel and accommodation costs during the course of the fellowship. Visiting Fellows are expected to contribute to the intellectual environment of ConceptLab, cf. http://www.hf.uio.no/ifikk/english/research/projects/cl/.

Non-stipendiary Fellowships

Non-stipendiary Fellows are visitors to ConceptLab who spend a significant period of time at the Institute (usually between 3 and 6 months) on their own research. It is also possible for visitors to come for shorter periods, or ask for an extension after 6 months (after review). Visiting Fellows are provided with office space, access to computing and printing facilities and library access. Fellows are expected to make a contribution to ConceptLab’s programme of events during their stay. Fellows are usually members of other academic departments or postdoctoral researchers. Doctoral students interested in working in close collaboration with ConceptLab can also apply.

Application procedure for Visiting Fellowships Applications should consist of: (i) a cover letter, which outlines the proposed duration and timing of your stay and a plan for collaborative activities that justifies holding the fellowship at ConceptLab (e.g. giving talks; organising workshops / conferences with ConceptLab ; participating in an existing research project  (ii) a short curriculum vitae (no more than 3 pages). (iii) names, positions, organisations and email addresses for two referees,

Applicants can apply for both collaborative and the non-stipendiary fellowships within the same application. Please indicate if you are applying for both schemes in your cover letter.

Applications for the Collaborative Fellowships will be assessed by the ConceptLab Directorate and must be received by 30 September 2017. We expect to notify successful applicants for 2017-18 by the mid October 2017.

Non-stipendiary applications can be submitted any time, allowing at least two months before the start date of the intended visit.
