Call For Papers: Conceptual Engineering

Conceptual Engineering is concerned with assessing and evaluating our representational devices such as concepts and words and their meanings. Is our concept of truth, for example, defective, as Kevin Scharp argues? Should our concept of woman be improved, as Sally Haslanger thinks? Is it even possible to improve or jettison concepts as we see fit?

Inquiry seeks papers for a special issue on conceptual engineering that address these and similar questions. We are interested both in specific case studies and in general methodological contributions.

Papers should be prepared for anonymous review, no longer than 8,000 words, and submitted via https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/inquiry. The deadline is 31st December 2018. Questions should be directed to mipmckeever at gmail dot com.
